Course: Snack
Cuisine: American
Keyword: high protein, peanuts, vegan recipe
Author: Kind Vegan

Materials

  • Peanuts raw or roasted
  • Pinch of salt

Instructions

  • Roast peanuts on low flame until the skin begins to separate and the aroma changes, or use store-bought roasted peanuts.
  • Remove peanut skin while still warm by rubbing them inside a kitchen towel and separating with a skimmer.
  • Once cooled completely, add peanuts to a blender with a pinch of salt.
  • Blend in short 30-second intervals, scraping the sides each time and allowing the blender to cool between runs.
  • Blend longer for smooth peanut butter or keep it shorter for a crunchy texture.
  • Transfer to an airtight container and store.

Tips

Roasting peanuts on high heat will brown the outside while leaving the inside raw, so always roast on low.
Peanuts can be used with or without skin depending on preference.
Removing skin is easiest when peanuts are warm, not hot or fully cooled.
The blender heats up quickly — resting it between blends protects the machine.
Adjust blending time based on how creamy or chunky you want your peanut butter.
